Traditional German-Style Wines
Hans Peter Weis grew up in the vineyards and cellar of his family winery in Zell, Mosel. He studied winemaking, business and viticulture in Germany before traveling to the USA. It wasn’t until he stepped upon the Finger Lakes that he felt that he found home away from home. The soils, climate and grape varieties grown in the area reminded him of the Mosel, and he saw the region’s potential. In 2016, he started Weis Vineyards together with his wife Ashlee to make and share traditional German-style wines with American wine lovers.
