Made by Christopher Bates – Master Sommelier, Winemaker & Executive Chef – Element wines push the limits of expectations and expand the definition of what is possible in the Finger Lakes. Christopher refers to the region as an extreme climate, not a cool climate, marked by freezing winters and hot summers. Wines produced under these conditions need time to evolve into their full potential, thus Element wines always flaunt older vintages than average. Since these wines are a snapshot of a point in time, the place is invariably a regional blend that encompasses different lake, sites, soils, and grape growers.
