Named for the horned water serpent of Iroquois legends in homage to the unspoiled beauty of the region, Onyare is owned by Dutch expat Thijs Verschuuren and former Minnesotan wife Katie Cook. Onyare is where all their learnings from studying and working in wine around the world melt to find new paths to express the character of the Finger Lakes. Burgundy, Bordeaux, Alsace, Loire, Argentina, Australia and other American wine regions have all an influence on the styles of the wines.
